Congratulations to Phairo Nathan Campbell (1st) and Phairo Giuseppe Ferretti de Luca (3rd) 2018 Cunningham Classic Mas D
A super race from Phairo Nathan and Phairo Giuseppe (The Italian Workhorse) saw them take 1st and 3rd respectively in the 2018 Cunningham Classic Masters D. Nathan also took the Kom. It is a 96km race with around 900m of vertical ascent. They took the race in a little over 2h 41m with an average speed of 37kph, hitting a top 68kph.
Making the result even sweeter for Nathan was the fact that it was his first official bike race after recently getting his Cycling Australia race license.
I raced in the Masters C, departing 10 minutes before their race, and not being back to health yet after a recent flu, waved goodbye to my bunch when they decided to go nuts and chase rabbits. About 30 minutes later, some race lead cars passed me followed by a bunch. I looked across and saw Phairo Nathan on the front beaming like a Cheshire Cat. That was just prior to the KOM, which he attacked for, and won.
From there, it was the business side of the race and as the results show Phairo Nathan and Phairo Giuseppe took care of business.
Congratulations to two proud podium winners, Nathan Campbell and Giuseppe Ferretti de Luca.
Congratulations to all the podium winners and all who rode the 2018 Cunningham Classic and a big thank you to Kangaroo Point CC and all the people who gave up their time to make the day a success.
Happy Cycling
